Library Rules and Regulations
1. General Rules:
- Library entry and reading are free for all visitors
- All visitors must sign in and sign out at the reception
2. Library Etiquette:
- Please maintain silence. Phones must be kept on ‘Silent mode’ . If you need to take a call, please step outside the library
- Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited in the library
- Do not place your feet on the chairs or tables
3. Usage of Library Resources:
- Please use the library’s resources and do not bring in personal books, laptops, or tablets
- Do not move or rearrange any chairs or tables
- Leave books on the table after reading. The library staff will place them back on the shelves
4. Reader Registration and Borrowing:
- If you wish to issue books from the library, you need to become a registered reader.
- Registration details are available at the reception or on our website.
- Reader registration is strictly non-transferable.
- Registered Readers must carry their registration card to issue or return books
- The standard loan period is 14 days. Books may be renewed once for an additional 14 days, provided they are not reserved by another registered reader.
- Books must be brought to the library for renewal. A fine of ₹5 per day per book will be charged after the due date.
- Registered Readers with overdue books or unpaid fines will not be allowed to borrow or renew books until the fine is paid. Books must be returned in good condition.
- Registered Readers are liable for the cost of replacement (or equivalent) for lost, damaged, or defaced books Marking on the books is strictly prohibited. Doing this may lead to a penalty
5. Consequences of Rule Violation:
- Violation of library rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access to the library
